Sorry... I got the impression that they were trying to cut through traffic,
but didn't pick up on the screening aspect.
Silphium perfoliatum carries it's leaves fairly high up the stalk, so
of the four major Silphiums it would be the best choice. But I agree,
other plants would be far superior.
Perhaps a combination of S. perfoliatum and some of its native associates,
like Eupatorium maculatum or Anemone canadensis (
