Back of the Border plants


I am looking for some tall, blooming perennials (at least 4 foot) to place
along the back of a full-sun border.  Ideally the plant should be sturdy
and full enough to provide some screening.  I'm trying to plant something
that would discourage someone from taking "short cuts" through my borders!
Due to the awkwardness of this location, I would also like something that
wouldn't require a lot of care.

This area of the garden gets full sun and stays on the dry side.  Summers
are hot and humid.  I would rather not have shrubbery at this site,
although I am considering buddlea because of those wonderful trusses of
bloom.  Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
