Viola lutes Splendens

I have recently been contacted concerning Viola lutea 'Splendens". Not being
an ardent viola-nut, I had to look it up. Not hard to locate references on Viola
lutea, photos on the internet of V. lutea, but I can find not mention of
"Splendens" in any reference I have here, or on the internet data bases. Is anyone
out there aware of this cultivar (?).
Secondly, would anyone be aware of a nursery in the US who just happens to
have a goodly supply of this one?
A possible hint.... reference was made to a garden restoration project, so my
best guess would be "Splendens" is an old cultivar/selection.
