Hellebores question

First of all I'm excited because I can actually see the blooms on my
hellebores that was planted last summer. The blooms are just ground
level now.  I read that I should be cutting leaves off so once the
blooms get taller you get a better display.  Do I cut them all off? 
Should I leave them alone for a while yet since we might (most likely)
get more snow?
