Wish you good weather, pray for that. From a little bit of experience I can
say that the tourers will love your gardens, why else would they come to a
convention, so don't worry. That is is best thing, don't worry. If I visit
a tour garden, I am always aware that someone has done a great deal of work
to entertain me and I appreciate that. The one thing missing in some are
enough chairs for older people and if I could say this in tiny letters in
some corner, I would, but since I cannot be advised that a bathroom available
is always asked for. It is best to have a sign and point the way. It saves
embarrassment for some.
I have been on tour two times and found all the visitors to be well prepared
with questions so you might have someone that can give the proper answers in
your garden helping with those questions. It is important to answer
questions correctly.
The same thoughts occurred to me each time. What would enhance the tour?
Most don't want to be a nuisance and won't ask for things so a table (with a
big bunch of daffodils in the middle) should be around for coffee if it is
cold and something iced to drink if it is warm. A help yourself table. They
always thank you for allowing the visit and I always think it should be the
other way around, you should thank them for allowing you to show your garden
(all gardeners need some compliments now and then). So - I think I would put
a large card on the drinks table saying thank you for coming to see my
garden.
It occurs to me that when the daffodils are blooming, you willprobably have
other spring bulbs. If you have some that are not common, be sure someone
will ask for the name and source of those.
Can't help you with the work, it is a lot of work isn't it!! You won't be
sorry.
