First of all I'm excited because I can actually see the blooms on my
hellebores that was planted last summer. The blooms are just ground
level now. I read that I should be cutting leaves off so once the
blooms get taller you get a better display. Do I cut them all off?
Just the brown, dead ones, Heather. And if you're expecting more cold weather, I'd wait--they might provide a little protection for the blooms. I don't think the dead leaves cause any problem for the plant--we cut them off simply for appearance's sake. And now that you've got Hellebores, you'll want more. They're a great plant and blooming nicely here in Cincinnati right now. They're also somewhat prolific seeders, so you'll find lots of seedlings around over the years.
