I don't know the answer to that but I am going to ask in Boston next week.
All those rhodies being shredded - not in New England I should think. I
picture full bloom PJM's being hauled through the subway. Show-goers always
stand out with huge bunches of pussy willows or some plant they are holding
carefully in the subway crush.
The Chelsea Show is in May so the sold off plants are safe to take home. Our
shows are late winter so one would need some freeze free storage space.
Still, I think the plants could find a home somehow. It is certainly a very
good idea.
The Boston show is most attended affair at Bayside Expo and I read recently
that since it so popular that the food sellers raise the prices to the
highest level of the year's events for this show. Bring a sandwich. Last
year it was around $4.00 for an ice cream.
