I would be *very* careful with bleach around seedling pots. In fact, I'd be
so careful that I wouldn't even use it near them. :-) LIverwort is not an
algae and algae controls don't work on it. On small scale control of
liverwort, diluted concentrations of vinegar have been used without
damaging seedlings or established plants. I experimented with 50:50
solutions and found them effective with most pots. Mind you, you still
have to clean as you are left with a brown scudsz on the pot. I do know
other nurseries that have not found vinegar to be effective.
Hand cleaning is unfortunately still the remedy of choice but if you do
hear of the "natural" cure, do let the list know - there's a LOT of
nurseries with this problem.
