I give mine a good haircut too....really keeps it nice and fresh. I put a
cutting in full morning sun last year, about this time. So far it has done
well. It was slow going throughout the growing season last year but when
Fall hit the plant took off. It is sheltered from the afternoon sun by a
Vitex.

The garden I'm trying it out in morning sun is new....it's an odd little bed
but it is turning out nice. I put it in last April/May. Of course, with me
there is never a plan...just too many plants without a home. The Vitex has
been there for at least 5 years and I've always wanted something surrounding
it. Somehow - most of the plants in the garden have a silver-ish foliage.
One would think this would be too much but it is really beautiful. All the
silver is different. Some plants having the greenish-silver, some having the
blue-ish silver and then those that just cast the illusion of silver. All
the leaf textures are different and the shapes vary. I even have a Canna
stuck right in the middle. Everything that blooms is some shade of
blue/purple or pink. It's a nice "cool" spot during the summer because of
the colors.

Last Fall, I planted the Foxgloves, Larkspur and Allysum. The Allysum has
been blooming non stop....the buds on the Foxs and Larks are just forming.
Another few weeks and it should be a nice show. Really offers me inspiration
to get out there and clean up the winter debris.
