Re: silver and grey foliage was: Artemesia 'Powis Castle'

I totally agree about silver foliage - a favorite of mine; goes with
just about everything and really brightens up the garden...love it
with blues and purples; not so fond of it with yellows for some
reason. Used to have A. 'Powis Castle' at the foot of a group of
Canna 'Wyoming' (purple foliage). Was a combination I loved, but the
spot got too shady for the cannas and the 'Powis Castle' didn't like
the soil there and kept dying out...but, while I had it, I loved that
combination of colors and the contrast of the foliage shapes and
textures.

I keep trying silver and gray foliage plants, a lot of whom hate my
muggy climate, but have quite a few who don't seem to mind it.

Have you tried Phlomis fruticosa, Kemberly? Should grow for you; is
a Med. plant, a woody sub-shrub. Actually blooms in yellow, but not
for me as I don't have enough sun to offer it; grow it for the
foliage.
