Re: Artemesia 'Oriental Limelight'/'Powis Castle'

I tend to agree, Doug, tho' I have had a rather strange experience
with one plant which was put in a spot that tends to flood in heavy
rain. It drains away in a day, but it gets inches deep. For some
totally unknown reason, that plant has lived longest of all in my
garden and become the largest. It also is in a place that collects
oak leaves over winter, so got pretty well covered. Last fall, I
raked up all the leaves, which I normally don't do until spring, and
I just checked today and it looks like the plant died...this after a
5 month drought around here and about 10 years in the ground!!! Go
figure....shoulda' left it alone last fall.

In all other locations, drainage seems to be the key issue, as you
say; this is not a plant that loves stodgy clay soil.
