Just as a note - Ronnalee's garden in Wiarton is likely a USDA zone 3 or
Canadian zone 4 (maybe a 5a garden if situated very advantageously) - just
to clarify the difference in zones that you may be wondering about. My own
experience with A. 'Powis Castle' is that drainage is the key rather than
cold. Keep it wet during the winter and you kill it. Put it on well
drained soils - ie gravel - and you're fine. Never mulch it - the crowns rot.
