In Paul's state, but not in New York State. Pumice is used but I am not sure
if it is the same mineral you are describing. It is very hard to find
usually through rock garden chapters. It is more available on the West Coast
than East.
I have to read more thoroughly on vermiculite. If you smoke, you certainly
would not want to use it. It has been my favorite for cuttings indoors for
years.
Tis all so confusing. If you have small children in the home, you would
probably not use any of these products indoors. We are required in NYS to
give tenants a bulletin published by the federal govt. on particles in
building from rehab projects. Lead particles are the the major interest but
many others are covered as well. Peat moss is in there.
