Hi!

Gardener. Is this the program where the owner goes away for a day and a bare backyard is made into a garden?
Yes
If so, wouldn't that be modeled on the BBC Ground Force which has the advantage of three endearing and well known personalities?
Ah - but there is a difference here - the personalities are more than winsome, they are good at what they do, know about plants and hardscape and do the work themselves. And seem to be enjoying themselves!
one pretty face, non gardener, aka Mrs. Sonny Bono (the second or third time around). Actual work is done by a team of 20-30 with machinery and a landscape contractor that does the layout. I refuse to call it a design. Lots of shortcuts that looks as tacky as the materials. Rustic ladders might be ok for a herb bed, but not the broken footstool.I thought they were similar to the HGTV program going nowhere without a Charlie Dimmock.
so does mine. I love it - there maybe tons of gravel, but each show is different. More importantly, they like each other and working together. My husband loves Ground Force, puzzling to me.
Give me more British gardening shows. Well, ok, I can skip Home Front in the Garden; seems surreal to me. And most definitely not for the average gardener, but the more money than brains crowd. (my humble opinion) But I'll take more of British gardeners in general. I like Charlie's Garden Army, where she helps a group create a community garden.Maybe we should write also, to the BBC, asking them to send along more of their programming.
