Is this the program where the owner goes away for a day and a bare backyard
is made into a garden? If so, wouldn't that be modeled on the BBC Ground
Force which has the advantage of three endearing and well known
personalities? I thought they were similar to the HGTV program going
nowhere without a Charlie Dimmock. My husband loves Ground Force, puzzling
to me. Maybe we should write also, to the BBC, asking them to send along
more of their programming.
Another aside, the BBC magazine is still on special offer to Americans. My
second subscribed copy came today with all kinds of offers and trips and
things we should try to do in some magazine. Also free seeds, delphiniums
and scabious. If you give this a try there are 6 month and 12 month offfers.
Take the 12 months as you cannot have this price to extend a subscription.
After the original offer it becomes very expensive as one garden friend
discovered. A one year treat for less than Fine Gardening, plus free seeds
in each issue and an armchair tour.
