Re: spring blooms

It looks like we are still on track for an early spring, even after this
weekend that was cold. We had a nice warm spell last week and I got most of
my yard raking done and hauled off a lot of material from the beds. But
temps look to be above average for the next week again.

Nothing growing yet, but did check out my clumps of ladyslippers and they
have green shoots just waiting to come out of the ground when it does warm up
enough.

The soil temps are still low so we will need about a week of night temps in
the 40's yet before any thing "shoots" out and blooms.

Speaking of the ladyslippers, the clumps have increased well again this year.
The large clump has 21-24 shoots this year-up from 12 last year. The three
smaller ones have any were from 8 to 14 shoots. ( all have been in the ground
three years, and started off as 1 or 2 stemmed plants) It looks like they
really like the fert program I put them on two years ago, with each clump
doubling their size each year.
