Hurrah - books I tend to prefer “why I garden” to “how to garden” authors. So in no particular order Roger Swain - he has several books, some more garden than others, but all are more in the form of long essays about some particular focus. Cassandra Danz - AKA Mrs Greenthumbs. Super funny and just plain fun Beverly Nichols - an interesting and conflicted man. Not sure how often he got his hands dirty, but I enjoyed him and his descriptions of building his various gardens are wonderful. He can be a bit scathing of his fellow man Katherine White - Onward and Upward in the Garden. Wish she had written more Richard Wright daybook and bed books I can recall parts of few other authors - Ann somebody who wrote beautifully but left me angry and depressed, a gossip maven from NYC that had a garden in Vermont, Cheryl --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PERENNIALS
