Re: pleasing perennial combinations?

>I'm starting a new, very large perennial garden this spring - zone 5,

Here are several plants we have used in our sunny garden while some are
not strictly perennials in our area , zone 5 Southwestern Michigan, they
do reseed thierselves.Comsmos Sunrise, Purple Queen Cleome,
Coreopsis,Single Hollyhock, Aztec Nicotiana all can be grown from seed
and freely reseed thierselves. On a more hardy note we recommend any of
the Echinacea andmany of the Rudbeckia particularly Herbstonne can be
grown from seed. If you really have a big area by all means try
Eupatorium Gateway, Ironweed, or Boltonia Snowbank.

Hope this helps
