Hi!
I am - or have been, til now - mostly a lurker - but now feel that it's
time to get involved. I live on 4 acres in central New York, and started
perennials when I moved in here last year, after being in Ontario and Northern
New York.
On orange... Seeds of Change has a perennial "Firewheel" that is
predominantly orange, many chrysanthemums are shades of orange. They also
have a "Cornfield Poppy", a reseeding annual, which I think most poppies are -
at least in my experience. Depending on where you are and how serious you are
about orange perennials -- I think I'll stick with orange annuals, personally,
you can find orange freesia, glads, strawflowers, rananculus, daisies, tiger-
and day-lilies, roses (I have one that's nearly flourescent orange - the kids
love it!), azaleas, dahlia, potentilla, irises...
Many of these, I've seen and grown - others are only pics in catalogs.
Henry Field's has a good selection; I've used them in the past, as does
Burpee.
Have fun
