Steve, It's not an idle question at all. We're having exactly the same
mild Winter here in the UK and there could be all sorts of effects. Some
plants, especially evergreens need a rest and they're not getting one.
Many pests will get going quicker - I'm already finding vine weevils and
aphids. If we do get a late Winter, blossom will be lost, or if the
blossom is very early, there won't be insects for pollinating.
Oh woe and doom - or on the other hand just another lot of weather sent to
try gardeners.
