Bill and all, I strongly recommend pruning your buddleias even
if they never did get fully dormant, and you should do it soon.
I'm in 6a-ish too, Bill. The problem is if you don't, they
won't be nearly as productive and will look pretty ratty by the
time they should be looking lovely. While they will leaf out
and even bloom some, most prolific blooming will be on the
branches coming from the pruned branches. If you are
uncomfortable pruning much, just take them down by about 1/3
rather than the usual 2/3.
