If you decide to start over again and you want to plant it in the same
place you need to remove the soil that the oder rose was growing in or
else the new rose will not do well. The reason for this is not clear,
but the soil is "poisoned" somehow-it is called rose sick-and a rose
planted in the same hole that another rose had been in will not do well.
The solution is to dig out all the soil in the area about 2 - 4 feet
acros and about 1 - 2 feet down depending on the size of the rose you are
removing.
