Definitely there is salt in this but it varies greatly by brand-we have 
tried it but some of our dogs appeared to like it while others wanted no 
part of it.  If salt worries you you might try cloves although I am not 
sure how often you would need to apply it outside-we used it inside.  
Again though our English Setters hated it but our Yorkie licked it up.

I noticed today that on another list we subscribe to, Setters-L that some 
one posted this remedy for digging dogs-never tried it but it does make 
sense......

"This has long been my remedy for digging dogs!  Every hole one digs gets
filled with poop.  It doesn't take newcomers long to figure out that 
digging
isn't fun."
