Re: highbush blueberries


They should be just fine, Rhonda.  Did you cut the dead wood all the way to
the ground?  Blueberries only need minimal pruning.  I usually cut back any
dead or dying wood to the base.  I sometimes open up the center of the bush,
allowing more light into the center for ripening berries.  Am usually done
pruning them by now.  It would probably help if you gave them a feeding with
an acid fertilizer.  Hollytone is fine.  Or you could use sulphur.  Enjoy
your crop.  The trick is to get them before the birds do.
