Hi Rhonda, I pruned my highbush blueberries (they are about 10 years old)
last month and they are covered with buds about to open. I pruned them very
hard, taking the oldest stems out at the ground, because that is the way I
was taught to do it in Master Gardener class. So far it has worked for me.
Be sure to use bird netting over your bushes while the berries are still
green. Once they start to turn, your garden will be the "diner" for every
bird in the county!%^)
