storing Perrenials

Hello folks! I bought some perrenial plants last night that I am
plannning on transplanting in two days. I don't think that much can
happen to them in two days but, just to be safe: should I be keeeping
them outside? Is there a specific amount of water to provide them with
while waiting to transplant?
