I would agree with most of the comments so far. Stringy materials ,such as
some iris family leaves,and old stocks of some other plants(old grass) can
be annoying especially with not-to-sharp knives. I think that if you are
planning to do a lot of heavy chipping, then 8hp or more is a necessity,
otherwise i'd probably go for 5hp. Definitely be careful with rocks and
metal of any sort- i often use pruners to trim large side branches from
stocks and almost dropped them in the hopper once. I too would not want to
be without mine.
