Anne mentioned fragrance in poeticus daffodils. My favorite scented daffodil,
however, is a double-flowered one with multiple florets on a single stem,
named 'Sir Winston Churchill'. It has a strong citrus fragrance and you don't
have to put your nose on the flower to detect it. It's a healthy garden
variety and many of the bulb dealers carry it. It's one I wouldn't be
without. A newer cultivar is named 'Fragrant Rose' and it has a subtle
fragrance like a rose, although not all can detect it and it does seem to vary
with conditions (water, temperature, etc.).
