I agree with Gene on the germination of Cimicifuga racemosa 'Atropurpea'
. I started some last year, probably in March. It has been outside
since last spring in a 4 inch pot and just started to germinate a few weeks
ago. Can't wait for warm weather to see just how many come up. When
a challenging seed finally germinates, it sure gives you a feeling of
success!
