Hepatica acutiloba is going to be our next Plant of the Month (in one
week), and I've got lots of nice photos to share... I *love* that plant,
but I can't seem to grow it here in Champaign. But the ones that I
planted up at my parent's house are doing great!
Prairie smoke is Geum triflorum, a native Illinois prairie plant that
doesn't get much more than a foot high. There's a picture of the "smoke"
(actually fruit) at
http://www.inhs.uiuc.edu/~kenr/prairiephotos/Geumtri2.jpg
The flowers aren't as exciting, but there's a photo at
http://www.inhs.uiuc.edu/~kenr/prairiephotos/Geumtri1.jpg
too. This is my first year that I'll get to see it bloom, so I'm excited.
:)
