I wouldn't buy plants that I thought were left out in the cold in March. It's
one thing if they're established plants in the ground (my perennials are
sprouting like crazy this week) but another story for seedlings. Just more
evidence that you're generally better off at a true nursery where people know
what they're doing. At my local Home Depot yesterday I notice numerous flats
of forced crocus, hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils. The daffodils were all
labeled as being the cultivar 'Minnow'--nice labels including a picture. The
actual flowers were clearly 'Tete-a-Tete'. Now what do you think one of the
clerks there would respond if I told them that?
