I don't think they would survive in zone 7..It does OK in zone 8b but even
with some of our heavy frosts in the winter, we've lost some..They do like
full sun but will tolerate some shade. You could grow them in pots but
that's a lot of trouble sometimes when you have a lot of plants that need
to come in for the winter. I've only had a few plants that have been as
fragrant for the flower size..We have a neighbor that has a night blooming
"jasmine" ( not a true jasmine) that sends fragrance across the street or
more. Tolerates more shade and winters well. We have a lot of different
jasmines for fragrance mostly including a star jasmine, pink jasmine and
carolina jasmine..When the gardenias, wisteria, and jasmine are in bloom in
the spring, it's a heady experience..Chuck Good luck to you
