Re: fragrance
I've also had the star jasmine, however it didn't survive. I do have a
carolina jasmine that is probable 10 years old. It is in bloom right
now and has been for the past 2 weeks. It looks good with my daffodils
and forsythia.
I also have several gardenias and they are heavenly when in bloom and
just last year my husband and I went to the woods and got a wisteria and
hopefully it will cover the big oak tree where we planted it. the
carolina jasmine and wisteria are located all over in this area, and
the oak leaf hydrangea..... I have several of these in my yard. over
the past few years I have planted about 25 or so, and if one doesn't
survive, I just make a trip in Feb. and get another to replace it.
I have found that land owners in this area are very nice about allowing
you to go onto their property and get these plants.
wisteria and carolian jasmines just smother trees, and I have seen
areas where the oak leaf hydrangea just cover hill sides. It's a
beautiful site. I make the same journey every spring to see these
plants in bloom. ............Donna NE Ms (zone 7)
