Here is Katy, Texas the temperatures have been turned up too...spring flowers
have long since been gone. There are few signs of winter/spring annuals
around and I have just a few fading blooms left on my larkspur. Salvia's
have already been blooming since March. The Daylilies have just opened their
first blooms this week. Let's just hope that this summer offer a little more
rain than last year.

on
gardening? How do you choose what you grow? Is it based on color,
hardiness, form? Do you find joy in the unusual that you must nurse along
for your growing zone for the challenge? Do you just enhance nature or cut
out formal patches of garden in your yard? Are you an
impulse buyer or carefully choose your plants according to some scheme you
have?<<<<

These are great questions. I garden for my sanity and because I love having
dirty hands. I love unusual and I love trying my hand at propagating. I
would say my style of gardening is the old fashioned "granny" style..one of
everything is my philosophy. Maybe later when my kids get into school I'll
try to put some design in my landscape but for now - if there is a spot with
a little open compost and plant will be planted.

Hope everyone has a great growing season.
