Re: Hot Weather/Gardening style

Hello All

here in the South, we are having our usual weird weather. In early Feb. we
started having spring like weather and that didn't change until recently and then
it got serious about hot....My spring flowers have been history for quite some
time now...
the usual early spring blooming flowers are long gone. roses are in blooms right
now along with iris, daisy, coreopsis, rose companion, foxglove, etc.
I've got to tell you, the one Rhododendron that I was so proud of, and thought
was doing great "bit the dust" the Tree Peony is still alive. everything
seems to be on a good schedule. but I have to add this note: Kemberly, my
brug's are looking great, I can't believe how well they have done. I have them
in pots (as you suggested) with the exception of one, this is the one from
last year that I took the cuttings from. They seem to be doing so much better in
pots.
I had to replace both buddleia's this year, lost them to the drought of '99. I
got a black knight and a lilac and planted them together. waiting to see what
they will look like together. trying to do something differant, just for
giggles, I may be sorry, but who knows.
I also bought a white bridals wreath and planted it with a spring blooming red
rose.
I have added several new plants this season, some annuals and some perennials.
my container gardening is beginning to show some life and color, again I have
too many. every year I say I'm not gonna over plant and every year I have more
than the last.............

my way of gardening may be a little bit nutty, but it makes me
happy.......nobody on this list is gonna believe me when I say "I have a
hollyhock in bud" wonder of wonders. this is a first.

so happy gardening to one and all
