RE: Hot Weather/Gardening style

Val, Your remark about Yucca being indestructible reminds me of my
amazement when I was touring the beautiful gardens of Saskatoon Saskatchewan
about 5 summers ago during the international Master Gardener conference
there. Yucca was prized by several of the host gardeners and tenderly
potted and put in their southern exposure glass walled sun room to winter
over each year. It was considered a tender exotic/tropical in that climate
where winters routinely go to 40 below zero and the ground freezes solid for
months. It is taken for granted here and rather scorned as "ordinary".
Beauty (and value) are certainly in the eye of the beholder!:)

Mary,

yucca (I don't think anything could kill this except for a nuclear bomb)
phlox paniculata, carolina, or maculata (I've got some of each and I love
them all)
