Peony Shimanishiki Redux

Some weeks ago, there was a post from someone with a tree peony
'Shimanishiki', which bloomed with an entirely red blossom (it's
supposed to be red/white variegated).

Here is a link to comparison photos of my 'Shimanishiki' blooms from
1999 and 2000. Unfortunately, there has been only 1 bloom per year,
but as the photo shows, it appears that the degree of variegation can
be quite variable and so an entirely red (or white) flower might not
be totally unexpected.
