Actually, the foil that I found is not too much heavier than a heavy 
gauge aluminum foil - I think it might be about 23 gauge or so.  The 
brass foil is relatively soft, tho I wouldn't recommend dragging your 
fingers along it - actually probably not too much worse than paper. 
Also, you could also fold over the edges 1/8 inch or so - uses a bit 
more foil, but it might actually dress it up a bit.
