Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to having this perennial for a long time!
I have other things planted around it that will be in various forms of bloom throughout the season: roses;daylilies(ones that will be in various stages of blooming)spirea;a bunch of others. I have yet to try Lilies-guess they are next on my list :~)

That's typical with a lot of perennials, especially the long-lived ones. They
spend that first year growing a strong root system and don't waste energy on
flowers. You'll now have this peony for the rest of your life -- unless, of
course, you dig it up or build a patio on top of it. ;-)
