I'm an organic gardener and have had really good luck hitting aphids with
either a commercial insecticidal soap or a homemade soap solution.
Actually, my first line of defense is the "blast 'em off with a strong spray
from a hose" method, done once or twice a day. This removes/mutilates most
of them, and then a light application of soap spray helps finish the job.
And I not only have lots of ladybugs in the yard, but realize another bagful
every spring (this year we have had LOTS of ladybug larvae and new ladybugs,
so I think this practice is finally paying off).
Anyone else have an organic ideas for handling aphids?
