Poison ivy

Janet, the poison ivy is coming from birds eating the seeds and sitting
in the privet hedge. Well, you know . Have to find the mother plant up
high in the sun and cut it off at the ground. I wish that birds were
bothered by the poison ivy as much as I am. Anyway you can pull it by
putting on gloves and then a plastic bag. I have been saving bagel bags
for this purpose. Then I put another grocery bag over the bagel bag.
Any portion of the plant that touches the skin or clothing can lead to a
mean scar for me. After pulling the plant peel back the top bag and
turn inside out and place in the garbage. The two bags and gloves are
incase any one should fail. And I have a whole hill side to clear.
Good luck with yours.
