Re: Immune to Poison ivy

===>Bob, don't get too cocky about this immunity. I had the immunity too for
about 48 years. Then in the 49th year I pulled some PI barehanded like
always and got a small rash. I'm a little more cautious today. It seems
that if I wash up soon after exposure I'm OK. Immunities and allergies
change as we age. As a side note, when I was about 8 or 10, my grandfather,
who was a real character, told someone that he had heard that if you eat
some poison ivy leaves you'll become immune to it. He didn't know my little
ears were listening and you can guess what I ran into the woods and did the
very next day! Good thing I was already immune.

There also seem to be seasons in which the PI is not as infectious. I think
spring is one of them.
