Janet..Is your Mom jealous of your garden/life? Is she feeling insecure
about being there ? I am not making excuses for her....just that if I try to
see the other persons point of view..the less chance there is of me killing
them and spending the rest of my life in jail..:O) I certainly emphasize
with you......

<< s weeding; No, I haven't got
time to deadhead; I know the soil's too clayey -- the soil was that way
when we bought the house. This from the woman whose garden has died from
neglect.
So I let her prune the overgrown climbing rose and deadhead the
bigroot geranium, and asked her to please help my daughter plant the
annuals. Harmless, right? Well, I just found out that she pulled out
most of my Disporum sessile 'Variegatum'. "Those aren't weeds!" I
exclaimed.
"I know that, but they are choking your tree peony." If she had been
here a week earlier, she would have seen the tree peony blooming its
head off. She meant well, but to do this without even thinking of
asking...I'm floored....in a few hours I'll be annoyed.... Yes, I'm
especially sensitive because she always feels my decisions are mistakes.
Anybody else ever had their garden invaded by somebody who "knows
better"?
