Hollyhocks

Dot:
A couple of years ago, someone (from this list ?) offered free seeds to a
dark burgundy hollyhock. It was named 'Blackberry Swirl', I think.
It bloomed last year for the first time - very dark. I harvested the
seeds, and shook them around.
Our fall was very long last year, without much cold and adequate rain.
The seeds sprouted and created quite a mound. The winter was very mild
and only a few of the top leaves froze off. Well, now the plants are
approximately 6 feet tall and getting ready to bloom. The fastest
biennial on record in my yard.
