I don't have Tequila Sunrise but I have all kinds of the wider leafed garden
plants. They don't live a long time time. They seed around and you need
save a few each year. Sometimes they live over two winters but are never
permanent. This would in contrast to verticillata types (Moonbeam, Zagreb,
etc.) which if divided once in a while live forever.
If your plant makes a few crowns perhaps you could cut out the extras and
plant them elsewhere in the garden to keep it going. That is my experience
with the various wider leafed plants.
