The slug topic and the Dr. Schweitzer of the slug world caused a lot of
discussion on the other list. We here in the East like to think that
slug-lovers would probably come from California, perhaps this kindly lady is
an immigrant up your way, Marilyn. If the practice is barmy, it is
automatically excused here as being from California. I think I can get away
with saying this as I am from New York and we take the blame for almost
everything else. On a recent trip I was asked if from the US, why did we
elect Bush, if from New York - how do you like Hilary - if from the City -
where can you stay and not get mugged. People from Oklahoma are not asked
these questions.
Nobody likes slugs. The decimate seedlings if you are not careful how you
position them, a lot of work for nothing. That is my main disgreement with
slugs other than they are sort of gross to look at. Also slugs can give you
a nasty fall on a stone path if you do not see it before you step on it.
