Claire,
Not all the "free thinkers" are in California. One of my very good friends
here puts out cat food for the slugs every night! She swears they eat so
much cat food they are not hungry for her plants. She actually picks them
up and holds them up close to her face so she can talk to them "one to one"
about leaving her plants alone. LOL! Otherwise she seems perfectly
"normal". :)

If the practice is barmy, it is
automatically excused here as being from California. I think I can get away
with saying this as I am from New York and we take the blame for almost
