See were Frank has answered this one for you... I will chime in as well.
Bletilla striata and the variegated one with white booms does fine here.
Have for the past 5 or 6 years now. They get lots of light, but no direct
sun. Both are on embankments where soil is very well drained. I mulch with
chopped leaves each fall... that is the only care they receive.
