We have a large number of garter snakes, including Spike who summers
in my garage. He is quite large - about 30 inches and about the
diameter of my thumb.
I've seen 3 this year, but no Spike yet. Several small ones hide in
the stones around the culvert under the driveway. (Needless to say,
the kids love this.)
A couple of years ago, we found lots of little ones, barely pencil sized.
Love those things - they eat slugs.
