need help to id

Ok- It is a tree and I am on the wrong list..... but I really need some
help to id it. Anyone growing one in your yard.
I really don't know much about this tree. The owner of it does not know
anything except his wife wanted it and it was expensive.
I am assuming it is some type of cherry but since it gets no fruit, it
could be anything. DH wants one in our yard, and since he makes very
little requests concerning our landscaping, I would like to find one. I
inquired with branch in hand, to the TalTree Arboretum personal as well
as a few other places, all agreed it was probably a cherry tree. I also
took their advice and wandered thru a few nurseries looking for the
bloom. So far, no luck.
Well I am not a photographer, and just took a few pictures for you all
to look at. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated!
